All equipment is collected and returned to our secure recycling facilities. All items processed have an analysis sheet which accompanies the machine until it has been recycled/remarketed. This is signed by the engineer who carries out the data removal and random machines are picked for retesting to ensure all data has been erased and are irretrievable.
All software used at The Computer Recycling People is specialist software and is compliant to US defence standards as well as UK standards.
2. What is WEEE and why is it so important?
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment or WEEE directive became in effect in January 2007. Its aim is to reduce the amount of electrical waste being produced and encourage people to reuse, recover and recycle it.
As a business you may be under obligations to ensure your WEEE is disposed of correctly and if you are not aware of this you may be in violation of the directive. By using TCRP to collect and retire your redundant WEEE you can be assured that your items are being handled in the correct manner.
3. How long does the process take and how quickly can my items be collected?
TCRP can collect within 24 hours depending on the size of collection and location. On average we collect within the week the initial contact for the current collection is made. The data erasing process can take up to 10 working days depending on the size of collection and all paperwork and documentation is usually completed and received by the client within 10 working days.
